Maldives Holidays

Maldives Resort | Maldives Hotels - for holidays in Maldives

Don’t forget these accessories for your holiday in the Maldives

You should bring along all your essentials from home as far as possible. Be it toothpaste, women’s needs, medicines and so on. All this stuff is pricey, and might not necessarily be available at your resort. In Maldives your Gillette blades and Suntan Lotion are probably twice as expensive; considering they are being sold in Resorts it is not all that surprising.

Bring plenty of sun protection with a high SPF so you can bronze without burning. It is pretty expensive in the resorts itself and you would be surprised at how many bottles you can go through within just one week. Flips flops and Flat shoes are advised as a must bring cause it is pretty much sand every on the islands, and heels would definitely not be of any help to the ladies. Light Cotton clothes are recommended to ward off the heat and humidity. And as Maldives is an Islamic country, nudity of any sort is prohibited, so sun bathing in the nude would be out of the question in any parts of the Maldives. Women should cover their thighs; avoid see-through clothes and bikini tops when they are not in the beach and so on. T-shirts and shorts are quite acceptable for men. Technically resort dressings are informal so you should understand that point. Decency is important when dressing up when in the Maldives.

It will be a great idea to bring along your snorkelling gear cause you would want to snorkel every day, maybe more than once a day in the crystal clear waters to experience the vast marine life. Bringing along a dive skin or just something to wear to snorkel in the water will be a good idea, you might look strange but it will stop you from getting a sun burn. Better safe than sorry! And aqua shoes would be a good idea, who knows what you might step on and hurt yourself.

Maldives is a scuba divers paradise; it would be great to bring back some memories of your diving escapades so it would be worth bringing along underwater casing for your digital camera. Sure diving is not a must, but it’s worth trying out. And it is something you should not miss out on during your trip to Maldives. It is one of the best highlights of the Maldives. You can see Eels, Sting Ray, lionfish, sharks, puffer fish, pipefish and many more. The benefit of diving obviously is that you can get closer to things.

Things you should really leave behind would be pornographic literature, idols of worship, pork and alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited as Maldives is an Islamic country and such items are duly frowned upon. But not to worry you can still buy alcoholic drinks in all major hotels and resorts. And like in any other country explosives and weapons and drugs are strictly prohibited. The penalty for importing drugs for personal or other use is life imprisonment.
